| Why Donate a Car? |
| Call and make a cancer car donation to your favorite cancer organization. You may not realize that you can do this but the fact is more charities are accepting donations like this to help them to fund their programs. These organizations will accept the vehicle, assuming you sign over the legal title to the organization. The vehicles are cleaned and readied for some (in some cases the organization will make repairs.) The vehicles are sold to the general public. The money from the sale goes to the cancer organization, so that that organization is able to profit from the vehicle you donated. In short, the organization benefits because you donated your vehicle.
But, why should you consider a cancer car donation? There are many reasons for this but perhaps the most important is the fact that if you have a vehicle you are no longer using, you could help others with it. Consider the vehicle sitting in your driveway. It is taking up space. You may be paying insurance on it, or storage costs if you have to keep the vehicle offsite. It is costing you money especially if you have to maintain it. When you donate the vehicle, you no longer have to spend money on it and instead you could receive a tax deduction for your donated item. You can deduct the current value of the vehicle up to the IRS allowable amount on your income taxes.
These are just some of the reasons to consider a cancer car donation. If you no longer need or want to have the vehicle sitting in your driveway, consider the value of a donation. You may find that this is a great way to help fund cancer research projects without having to spend a lot of money to do so and still get something in return for your donation.
